Owners find themselves facing an unexpected expense and struggle to find an affordable solution.įlexArmor roofs have proven to be a perfect solution for Winnebago owners in this situation. If it is an insurance claim, it is not unusual to see the insurance company want to total the RV. Replacing a fiberglass roof on a Winnebago can be a costly job and range $10,000 or higher. Unless it occurs during a storm, insurance considers these roofs blowing off to be a design/maintenance flaw and will not cover the replacement. The biggest negative effect for owners is the cost to replace the roof. Once the wind gets under the fiberglass, it blows off since nothing is holding the fiberglass down. Winnebago does not glue the fiberglass to the underlaying wood on the roof. Hurricanes and intense thunderstorms with high winds are also causing these types of roofs to lift up and experience damage. Wind is able to pop the fiberglass right out from behind the track and partially, sometimes fully, the material blows off. The smallest hole or opening allows wind to get in under the fiberglass. This construction method does not secure the roof material to the RV. No screws go in the fiberglass roof material. Bending the fiberglass forms the nice rolled radius you see from the ground. Winnebago bends the roof material over the edge and wedges it behind the side trim. Installation in the factory and design of the roof is the driving factor to the roof failures. FlexArmor locations see roofs that are stored under cover when not in use, recaulked yearly and never had any maintenance performed.
The cases coming into the FlexArmor locations do not support that assumption. The first reaction is to say the owner hasn’t been taking care of the roof, hasn’t been maintaining the caulking. The nice, rigid fiberglass roofs are blowing off while going down the road or during storms with extreme wind. Winnebago owners are experiencing a weak point with these fiberglass roofs. Perhaps a little jagged at times, but the complex, ever-changing scenery is detailed and distinct, even when youre hurtling through it at 100mph. Indeed, its a very good-looking game in all respects. The change in handling is exemplary and the graphical transition is smooth and impressive to watch. In this short Gamescom demo, after a couple of minutes of upending hay bales and smashing through crops of corn, the heavens open and the rain suddenly thrashes down, soaking the road surface. But the cars take a lot more punishment than youd put them through in real life.

A slightly over-exuberant slide cracked my windscreen. That said, its definitely not the sort of game where you can just hold down accelerate forever. The Gamescom demo keeps the suggested line visible at all times, turning red when youre travelling too fast to follow it, but when the track limits are so fuzzy, you can often find a way to beat the arrows and make the turn without slowing down. Theres still a good sense of weight and the cars drift with just the right amount of grip-to-danger-of-death ratio. The game handles much more responsively than the rather heavy-feeling Forza 5, allowing you to swerve between oncoming traffic and make late direction-changes into short-cuts much more easily than if the simulation were identical.

I looked for a chance to overtake when he suddenly veered off the track, through a vineyard and into a field full of bales of hay. In a single-player demo after Microsofts Gamescom press conference, I was racing three AI opponents and closing on the car in front.
Forza Horizon 2 really is as liberating as Microsoft is claiming.
